The vice-chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Felix Salako, has stated that it would resume educational activities on Jan. 18, regardless of the institution’s earlier stance on universities not being equipped to address the challenges posed by COVID-19.
Salako disclosed this while addressing a press conference, in Abeokuta, disregarding claims earlier made by the ASUU Chairman in the institution, Dr. Adebayo Oni, who had stated physical lectures with students would be disastrous citing the rise in COVID-19 cases.
The vice-chancellor maintained that FUNAAB was prepared to completely resume for in-individual activities, as measures had been put in place, including COVID-19 protocols as stipulated by the Federal Government. He described claims made by Oni as fake and mischievous, stating that the university had been fumigated more than 10 times since March 2020
