Non-teaching staff at Nigerian public universities will start a national strike on February 15, 2021. Employees oppose the federal government’s integrated personnel and payroll information system (IPPIS).
They protested the formula for dividing education benefits earned by #40 billion and not paying past-due obligations under the new minimum wage. Its employees are under the umbrella of the Joint Action Committee (JAC).
The trade unions affiliated with JAC are the Federation of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Association of Non-Academic union of Educational Institutions and Associated Institutions (NASU).
