On Thursday, State Governor Oyo Seyi Makinde said the state would make efforts to turn the Ladoke Akintola Technology University (LAUTECH) in Ogbomosho into a conventional university.
After receiving the report, the governor added that the government would move the agricultural and science higher education institution to the city of Iseyin which is in the geopolitical zone of Oke Ogun state.
He added that the state would apply for the positions needed to transform the university from a technology university to a conventional university.
According to him, this will strengthen the institution and allow it to take courses outside the technology category. Makinde said the committee, chaired by Professor Ayodeji Omole, was responsible for dissolving the LAUTECH co-ownership between Oyo and Osun some fifteen months ago.
Commission members have fulfilled their mandate. “You will remember that I promised to announce the establishment of a higher education institution in Iseyin.
