Friends, family, former co-workers, and mentees were here to pay tribute to a man who all agreed was a genius, a scientist in his class, and an administrator of excellence.
Professor OM Sodiq. He described the former Vice-Chancellor as a mentor to many people who always encouraged people to do their best for every task they had. comprehensive – sociable, scientific, and professional to the core.

The head of the Scientists group from the Scientists group from Waterloo at UNILAG, Professor Ayo Ogunier, also paid tribute to a mentor who he said had never failed the initial expectations he had since they first met in 1976.

Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, FAS, the current Vice-Chancellor praised the Vice-Chancellor to -8 as an archivist and history expert. He highlighted his record as a 34-year-old professor as proof of his full commitment to his vocation as a scientist and scientist.
He also praised the many steps he had taken at the university administration level at UNILAG and across the country, noting that the University of Lagos will be forever proud of its legacy.
It was the birthday of the former Vice-Chancellor’s widow, senior lawyer Olusola Ibidapo-Obe, and a special Senate meeting celebrating it.
The late Professor Oye Ibidapo-Obe was appointed as the 8th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos on 1 May 2002, a position he held until the end of his term on 30 April 2007. He rose to prominence on Sunday 3 January. 2021.
