Important Notification for Kaduna State University (KASU) Students Regarding the Upward Review of School Fees for 2020/2021 Academic Session.
The management of Kaduna State University would like to inform students, parents and the general public that with the fact and efforts to increase the level of education and increase development in higher education, it is necessary for upward review the current tuition fees.
Available data shows that the amount of #400 million per month, i.e. #4.8 billion per year, is spent by the Kaduna state government to pay the salaries of Kaduna State University employees, as well as monthly grants of #25 million. The university generates an annual amount of N765,855,671.00 as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
In short, in 2020 the university allocated N10 billion for capital projects, while the amount of N5 billion was used for recurring costs (overhead and personnel costs).
The upward review of the tuition fees is a difficult decision based on current reality. The university hopes to improve the quality of teaching and research and create a more conducive learning environment for staff and students.
However, the Kaduna government has allocated N2 billion in loans to the Kaduna State Council for scholarships and loans to Kaduna for access to interested and qualified students.
The upward review of school fees is at the stakeholder consultation stage.
Thank you very much.
