MAPOLY gets Approval for B.Tech Award in Ogun State

The Ogun State government, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun of the MRF, approved the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) award from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.

In his mission to improve education in the state to meet the needs of the technological and professional workforce needed for development, Governor Dapo Abiodun MRF approved the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) award Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta.

The Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, conveyed the approval in the form given by the State Director of Basic and Higher Education Dr. Olanloy Wahid, letter dated March 23, 2021.

In a letter to the current chancellor, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, “His Excellency (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun MFR has agreed to start the process of joining the Olabisi Onabanjo University to organize the B. Tech program”. It was further explained that the permit has met the requirements approved by the National University Commission (NUC). B.Tech’s approval for MAPOLY is also an endorsement of His Excellence’s strong interest in education to keep up with modern trends, which are paramount for the acquisition of technological and professional skills.

It must be remembered that Governor Abiodun, while taking office, revived MAPOLY by deciding to return the institution to its previous status quo. Responding to these developments, the Acting Chancellor believes that the program will safeguard and maintain practical policies on Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) policies.

The current Chancellor stated that B.Tech is primarily intended for National Diploma graduates in programs accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) at Polytechnics. “Because we want all of our products and their analogues to get the maximum benefit from other institutions through programs that have been accredited by the Polytechnic,” he added.

Dr. Odedeji said, “Once all arrangements are made with OOU and NUC, there is a guarantee that the program will start before the end of this year.” On behalf of the leaders, employees, and students of the Polytechnic, Dr. Odedeji of His Majesty Pangeran Dapo Abiodun for this great offer from MAPOLY.
