OAU Vice-Chancellor commends ETSU NUPE for his effort in making the campus a safe place for everyone in it

YOU ARE GOD SENT: OAU VC THANKS ETSU NUPE

The Etsu Nupe and Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife OAU, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, has been commended for his untiring efforts in making sure that the University enjoys maximum peace and safety.
The Vice-chancellor of the University, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, stated this when he led his management team on a visit to the Chancellor.

The Vice-Chancellor described the Federal Government’s choice of Etsu Nupe as the Chancellor of OAU as one of the best things to have happened to the 60-year old Institution in recent times.

Sounding appreciative, Professor Ogunbodede added that: “We are just too lucky to have you as our Chancellor because your constant interface with the University Management on several knotty issues has not only doused what would have been an annihilating conflagration, you have also always deployed your esteemed royal candour to the advantage of the University, particularly in difficult situations.”

The Vice-Chancellor added that the peaceful atmosphere of our campus is due largely to your presence and we are not taking it for granted, urging other Nigerians in high places to emulate Etsu Nupe’s sterling qualities by being an admirable role model, mentor, epitome of peace, and bridge builder.

Earlier, while welcoming the Vice-Chancellor and his Management team, the Etsu Nupe and Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, lauded Professor Ogunbodede for exhibiting a high level of transparency and accountability in the administration of the University.

He implored him to be steadfast in the pursuit of the ideals of the founding fathers so that his administration’s unquantifiable contributions will go a long way, in raising much higher, the academic standards of the University.

The Chancellor, who congratulated all the stakeholders of the University on its 60th anniversary, also challenged the University Management to ensure that the students are moulded, both in learning and character, to suit the existing realities of the 21st Century.
