INSTITUTIONS OF MOLECULAR MEDICINES AND DISEASES

Masters and Ph.D. programs in the following areas:

Infectious Diseases / Vaccines and Molecular Medicine

REDUCE MOLECULAR MEDICINE PROGRAMS

A) Admission requirements for Masters in Molecular Medicine:

All applicants must meet the minimum university requirements set out in the university and university programs.

Applicants with an MB.BS from a recognized university

All applicants must pass a Part 1 exam or the appropriate exam at a recognized medical university.

B) Requirements for applying for a doctoral degree in molecular medicine:

All applicants must meet the minimum university requirements set out in the university and university programs.

Applicants with an MB.BS from a recognized university

All applicants must have passed a Part 2 examination in the relevant discipline or its equivalent from a recognized medical college or graduate from a recognized university holding a Masters in Molecular Medicine with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 / 4 or 3.5 / 5, 0 or have obtained 60% and project evaluation is not less than 60%.

C) Requirements for admission to MD Molecular Medicine:

All applicants must meet the minimum university requirements set out in the university and university programs.

Applicants with an MB.BS from a recognized university

All applicants must have completed Part 2 examinations in the relevant discipline or the equivalent of a recognized medical school.

Candidate with a recognized postgraduate medical qualification in clinical medicine with five articles published on molecular medicine in the Journal Impact Factor (TR) as lead author.

A minimum of 5 years of postgraduate practice in molecular medicine is rewarding.

INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND Vaccination Schedule
A) Admission Requirements for Masters Degree in Infectious Diseases and Vaccines:

All applicants must meet the minimum university requirements set out in the university and university programs.

Applicants with an MB.BS from a recognized university

All applicants must pass a Part 1 exam or the appropriate exam at a recognized medical university.

B) Requirements for applying for a doctorate in infectious diseases and vaccines:

All applicants must meet the minimum university requirements set out in the university and university programs.

Applicants with an MB.BS from a recognized university

All applicants must have passed a Part-2 examination in the relevant discipline or equivalent examination from a recognized medical college or a graduate from a recognized university holding a Masters degree in Infectious Diseases and/or Vaccines with a minimum CGPA score of 3.0 / 4 or 3.5 / 5.0 or 60% and the project value is not less than 60%.

C) Entry requirements for MD infectious diseases and vaccines:

All applicants must meet the minimum university requirements set out in the university and university programs.

Applicants with an MB.BS from a recognized university

All applicants must have completed Part 2 examinations in the relevant discipline or the equivalent of a recognized medical school.

Applicants with a recognized postgraduate medical qualification in clinical medicine with five published articles on infectious diseases and/or vaccines in a journal with Impact Factor (TR) as the first author.

A minimum of 5 years of postgraduate practice in infectious diseases and/or beneficial vaccinations.

Available courses/programs

General entry requirements


Applicants for graduate programs at universities must have received 5 credits including English for no more than two sessions at WASC or GCE or NECO or NABTEB.
Applicants must also meet the minimum admission requirements for entry to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in their area of interest for postgraduate studies.
Graduates from the University of Nigeria or other recognized universities who have the above qualifications can apply.
Only candidates with a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field may apply for PGD in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, and architecture.


A. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES


For admission to the postgraduate diploma, the following can be classified:

(i) Graduates from universities in Nigeria or other recognized universities who have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Third Class. For postgraduate diplomas in public administration, candidates with at least a third-degree in arts, social sciences, law, business administration, or education. Applicants from disciplines not mentioned above must have at least three years of relevant experience after qualifying in an administrative/managerial position. For PID in business administration, the grade 3 award must come from business administration.

(ii) Holders of higher national diploma (HND) with an average of 3.50 points on a five-point scale or an equivalent qualification may be accepted. For postgraduate degrees in business administration, candidates with other professional qualifications, such as Associate Bankers Institute, Associate Chartered Accountants, Associate Expense and Management Accountants, Chartered Accountants Institute in Nigeria, Chartered Accountants, Chartered Accountants, Chartered Accountants, Chartered Accountants, Chartered Accountants, Associations Nigerian National Accountants and others. Applicants with professional qualifications, including HND, must have a pre-professional qualification including 5 credits at WASC or GCE O / L or NECO to meet the basic requirements for applying to degree programs in relevant departments of universities.

(iii) Apart from (i) or (ii), candidates may be admitted in special cases after they have passed the examinations prescribed by the department/faculty.

(iv) Applicants with other qualifications deemed equivalent to those listed above and acceptable to the University’s Graduate Council and the Senate may be admitted.

FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE


Entry requirements:

Nutrition and Dietetics (PGD)

For PGD programs in nutrition and dietetics, applicants must have one of the following qualifications from a recognized institution:
HND in Nutrition and Diet with a minimum degree or a bachelor’s degree in third grade in Nutrition and Diet with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 5 point scale.
Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics: Applicants for entry to the Master’s degree in Nutrition and Diet must have:
HND (top credit) in nutrition and / or dietetics with PID (credit level up) in human nutrition and / or dietetics.
Bachelor’s degree with at least grade 2 (lower department) in nutrition and dietetics.
A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of honors from second class (lower division) and PGD in nutrition and dietetics at credit level and above, in addition to meeting the requirements for university entry.
Doctoral or master’s degree: Applicants wishing to enter a doctorate or master’s degree in human nutrition and dietetics must possess one of the following qualifications from a recognized institution:

Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics with a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 5 point scale.
Department of Home Sciences
PGD: Applicants applying for admission to PGD in home sciences must have one of the following qualifications from a recognized institution:
HND in Home Science / Economics or a relevant field with a minimum score or a third-class Bachelor’s degree in Home Science / Economics with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 5-point scale.
Masters: Applicants applying for entry to the Master of Science (MSc) in Home Sciences must possess one of the following qualifications from a recognized institution:
A bachelor’s degree in home science or a related discipline with a minimum of honors of second class (lower division).

A bachelor’s degree in home sciences or related disciplines with distinction from grade 3 plus PID, earned at upper and higher credit levels.
Credit for HND plus PGD at the credit level in addition to meeting the requirements for the university registration exam.
Doctoral or Masters Degree: Candidates wishing to enter a doctoral or master’s degree in home sciences must have a master’s degree in home sciences/home economics or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
B. MASTER DEGREE PROGRAM
The following are the qualifications for a master’s degree:
Graduates from universities in Nigeria or other recognized universities who have obtained a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least second class difference with a minimum GPA of 2.50;
Applicants with a relevant postgraduate degree from the University of Nigeria or another recognized university with a minimum credit level with a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 5-point scale or 3.0 on a 4-point scale;
Applicants whose bachelor’s degree is not classified but has an average score of 50% or more;
For M.Ed. Diploma programs, candidates with at least second-class individual awards in subjects plus a minimum level of achievement in a postgraduate diploma in education, or those with a third-degree in academic subjects and a postgraduate diploma in education at a credit level or higher;
For the MPA program, in addition to (i) and (ii) above, applicants must employ administrative / management personnel in the public or private sector with at least two years of eligible family experience.
Professional scholarship holders such as FIMLT, FNILT, NIPR, or equivalent are obtained through examinations. Applicants with the professional certificates listed above must have worked as a senior technology expert or equivalent for at least three years.
For Doctor of Medicine programs in medical departments: hold a National Postgraduate Medical College medical scholarship, or equivalent, or at least a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline for which research is recognized after earning an MBBS from a predominantly accredited University or equivalent. A master’s degree must have a minimum grade point average of 3.50 on a 5-point scale or 3.00 on a 4-point scale in the relevant medicine.
For a Masters in Medicine, candidates must have a degree in Medicine (MBBS, MBBCh) from a Nigerian University or another recognized university.
For the MPH program, in addition to (i) at least three years of post-qualifying experience or at least a degree in Nursing, Sociology and Social Work, Psychology, Medical Microbiology, and Medical Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Health Education, Pharmacy, DVM, MBBS, and BDS. For the MPH study program, the study program will further examine the candidates and base their recommendations on the results of the exam.
Applicants with qualifications other than those listed above are eligible for the Nigerian University Senate.

C. PROGRAM DOCTOR (PhD)

Applicants from the University of Nigeria or other recognized universities who have obtained a master’s degree appropriate for the proposed field of study can be promoted to a doctorate. Specific:

Admission to doctoral programs in all departments except those listed in C (ii) requires a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale:
Admission to doctoral programs in the following departments/faculties: Music, Business, Public Administration and Local Government, Psychology and the Schools of Education, Medicine, Health Sciences and Technology requires the attainment of at least 4.0 on a 5-point scale and Business Administration.
A minimum success average of 3.0 on a 4-point scale or a B (60%) average for a Masters degree average, provided satisfactory research work is part of the Masters degree.
MASTER / PhD degrees. Degree program
Applicants with first-class awards from recognized universities may be admitted to a master’s / doctoral degree. Program in its discipline. (For details see the Postgraduate Qualifications Regulations)
A candidate with a Master’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum average score of 3.50 on a 5-point scale or 3.00 on a 4-degree scale wishing to undertake a PhD in a related field or department must be required to qualify for a master / Ph degree .D. E. Any candidate who does not qualify for a doctorate due to a low success rate does not yet qualify for entry to a master’s / doctoral degree. Program.
For faculties and departments where having a master’s degree with a grade point average of 4.00 points and above is a prerequisite for receiving a doctorate, candidates with a master’s degree of 3.50 and above, but not up to 4.00, are applying for a master’s degree/doctorate degree. . After completing a master’s thesis determined by the department, the candidate must qualify for solid doctoral registration if he or she achieves a grade point average of 4.00 in the master’s program.

D. SUBGRAM SANDWICH

M.Ed. Faculty of Education sandwich programs in the following departments: Adult Education; Art lessons; Scientific training; Health and physical education (opportunities for health education, physical education, and recreation); Social science education; and professional training for teachers.

MLS degrees are available from the Institute for Library and Information Science.

The Sandwich Postgraduate Diploma is issued at the Institute of Education (PGDE), Professional Teacher Training (PGDTE), and Library Information Science (PGDL).


COURSE DURATION
Postgraduate diploma
Postgraduate diploma (regular) – two semesters
Advanced Diploma (sandwich) – three long vacations

Master’s degree (full-time):
A minimum of 3 semesters for full-time studies and 5 semesters for part-time studies in all majors/faculties with the exception of the majors/faculties listed below:

At least 4 semesters for full-time studies and 6 semesters for part-time studies for the following departments/faculties: sociology, psychology, public administration and local self-government (PALG), agriculture, veterinary medicine, education, and business administration.

M.Ed. (Sandwich) – three long vacations.

Ph.D. Subjects
– A minimum of six semesters for full-time study and eight semesters for part-time study in all faculties with the exception of agriculture, consisting of four semesters for full-time studies and six semesters for part-time studies. Ph.D. The program does not run as a sandwich program.

Applicants are expected to complete their program with a minimum duration, but not exceeding the maximum duration (see Rules for Postgraduate Qualifications).

REGISTRATION
For full-time / sandwich programs, postgraduate diplomas, masters degrees, and doctorates, candidates are considered for admission once per session. Full-time students are expected to apply for their postgraduate program within four weeks of the start of the session. Applicants taking the sandwich program must register no later than two weeks after the sandwich session has started.






M.Ed. Sandwich Program – Faculty of Education

APPLICATION METHOD

The Application Form is available ONLINE with the payment of a non-refundable fee of N26 700.00 (only 2600 Naira) payable to the Nigerian University Postgraduate Qualification Account at a bank in the United States of America with the country of the Remita platform. The following is the application process:

Return to the online form.

❖ Fill out the referee form. (Please enter the correct e-mail).

Please note that, with the exception of certificates, you are not expected to send paper copies of application documents to graduate schools.



REFEREE REPORT
When filling out the application form, applicants provide their referee email address, which will send a link to the referee asking them to complete the applicant’s report form and submit it online. Applicants must download three (3) completed reference report forms and attach them in an envelope along with the online application form to be submitted to the Secretary of the Graduate School. Please note that applications will only be processed if a reference report is available.

TRANSCRIPT
Applicants must download the transcription application form (D2) which is also provided online and send it to their previous university/institution to send their academic transcripts to the “Secretary, Graduate School, Nigerian University, Nsukka” and contact him after 15 April 2020. Applicants whose certificates have not been accepted by the school before the deadline will not process their application forms.

SUBMISSION OF THE APPLICATION FORM
Most of the required information is filled in online. However, a copy of the online application form must be downloaded and printed. The printed application form with the relevant documents listed below must be issued or submitted to the Secretary of the Nigerian University Graduate School, Nsukka, for faculty based in Nsukka. Applicants for faculty at the Enugu Campus must submit their application forms by mail or to the Deputy Registrar of the Graduate School of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. For ease of reference, the faculties and institutes/centers located on the Enugu campus are Business Administration; Environmental Studies; Health science and technology; Law; Basic medical science; Medical Science; Institute for Development Research (IDS); Marine Research Institute; Institute of Maternal and Child Health; Institute of Public Health and Center for Environmental Management and Control (CEMAC). Applicants are advised to ensure that the following documents are attached to the file:

Copies of the NYSC Qualification Certificate / Result Statement and Certificate of Assistance. Please note that instead of the certificates listed above it is not accepted for whom it is applicable.
Two copies of the application summary form (D3) which are available online must be downloaded and printed:
(i) A printed copy of the summary form (D3) must be neatly attached (NOT HEATABLE) affixed to a brown 10 “x 15” envelope.
(ii) The second copy of the printed summary form (D3) must be affixed very neatly (NOT HEATABLE) to the white 9 “x 13” jacket.
All accompanying documents must be placed in the file envelope specified in (b.ii) and the file envelope must be placed in the brown envelope as specified in (b.i) above.

All documents must fit in a 10 “x 15” envelope and either mailed or addressed and sent by courier to the “Secretary of the University of Nigeria Graduate School, Nsukka” and Deputy Secretary of the Enugu Campus Graduate School for the Enugu campus Academic Unit.

APPLICATION START AND END DATE
Submissions will start on Monday 9 March 2020 and will end on a date to be announced later.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR ALL PROSPECTIVE
All applicants take a computerized screening test upon admission.
Information about the screening process can be found on the UNN website un.edu.ng from 1 July 2020. There you will find further steps required.
Screening test date: April 29, 2021
NOTE: For PhD, applicants must have published at least one article from their dissertation or received a letter of acceptance from a journal certified as a qualification requirement by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
The plagiarism test is carried out in a report for a master’s project or doctoral thesis prior to approval.
