Delta State University (DELSU) in Abraka on Saturday, matriculated 9,461 students who were offered provisional admission to various departments at the institution.
It was reported that no fewer than 37,176 applicants applied for admission to the DELSU 2020/2021 admission, of which 9,461 were admitted.
The announcement was made by the DELSU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Andy Egunuenga, Saturday during the matriculation ceremony for the 2020/2021 academic session in Abraka, noting that 1,291 candidates were offered to enter various postgraduate study programs and 382 people to the intensive and per-time program in the University.
DELSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Egwunyenga approached the freshmen during the matriculation ceremony and warned that any student involved in a cult, exam malpractices, and other social crimes would be expelled.
He described matriculation ceremonies as a universal academic tradition and requirement in universities.
The DELSU matriculants are then administered under oath.
