The Resumption date for University of Lagos UNILAG for the second Semester physical activities is May 10th, 2021.
After successfully completing the virtual and physical examinations in the first semester, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) announced the resumption date for the second semester of academic activities for the 2019/2020 session and physical activities on May 10th, 2021. The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics and Research), Prof. Oluwole Familoni told reporters that the university has required all students to follow the COVID-19 guidelines and regulations to support the smooth running of academic activities in the second semester.
Familoni said the university was successful in using the e-learning platform in the first semester in the field. He described e-learning as very useful and the virtual and physical research that followed it worked. He says the challenges they have faced have been resolved. According to him, “The online learning system which is applied to complete academic activities in the first semester for approximately 50,000 students, both undergraduate and postgraduate students, takes eight weeks.” Lectures are successfully delivered through the Personalized Learning Management System (LMS) which is implemented by the University Library in its services to help students with printed resources. The library also offers support via the Chat-a-Librarian service, which gives students access via virtual chat and special measures are taken for visually impaired students.
Online exams are conducted via a cloud-based online platform. WebTest and students are supported by free data from school management and students are also well monitored. We believe that the University of Lagos and all other institutions should be encouraged to continue using the virtual learning platform on a special basis for the university to carry out this work. “Regarding student safety, when it was continued, Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Ademola Adeleke appealed to students to be more aware of safety.
He said it had been agreed with neighboring police to monitor neighboring communities. He added that students should try to use the emergency call application or numbers associated with the health center in case of an emergency.
