Admission requirements for UNIPORT Public Health Postgraduate Form 2020/2021
POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD):
Applicants must have a good university degree (HND) with a minimum score. Community Health Officer (CHO) holders with the above credits can apply for PGD in public health.
Applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree in medicine or basic medical science, pharmacy, nursing, and other medical courses with a minimum CGPA score of 3.00 and above on a 5-point scale or equivalent. Holders of a Public Health Post-graduate Diploma (PGD) with a CGPA of 3.00 are also eligible to participate.
DOCTOR IN PHILOSOPHY (PHD) PROGRAM:
Applicants who qualify for this competitive program must complete Master’s degree in a relevant major with a CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale.
DOCTOR OF PUBLIC HEALTH PROGRAM (DRPH):
Applicants admitted to the DRPH program must have a master’s or doctoral degree in the appropriate subject for the course or Membership (Part 1) Public Health Fellowship from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or equivalent. In addition, all DRPH applicants MUST have at least five years of post-NYSC experience in a public health office.
In addition to the requirements above, all applicants must meet the minimum Matriculation requirements for the University of Port Harcourt.

PGD: Full time 12 months; Part-time 24 months
Masters: Full-time 12 months; Part-time 24 months
Doctoral: Full-time 36 months; Part-time 60 months
