The esteemed Enugu State Commissioner of Education would like to inform the public that the official date for all primary and secondary schools in the state to restart academic operations in the third semester of 2020/2021 is Monday, 7 June 2021.
The Enugu Ministry of Education announced the resumption date of all schools in the state on Monday, June 7, 2021. The decision was made at a meeting between the ministry and key industry players on Monday, according to a statement by state education official Prof. Uche Eze.
Prof. Eze announced that all schools in the state have been advised to ensure full compliance with the NCDC’s Coronavirus Disease Control (COVID-19) Guidelines, stressing that “the Department of Education is committed to ongoing compliance monitoring, as schools reopen”.
The Commissioner for Education added: “It has also been decided that all higher education, primary and secondary schools are encouraged to activate their e-learning programs to help engage students”.
On the development side, in support of its commitment to sustain the second wave of COVID-19, the Enugu State Government has postponed the annual prayer meeting at the Enugu Government Building to start work for the New Year and directed all officials to continue their duties. in their various offices according to NCDC guidelines.
