Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) debunked rumors circulating on social media about rising school fees for all returning students.
Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, noted that rumors were circulating on social media about an alleged increase in tuition fees for students returning to university for the 2020/2021 academic session.
For clarity, university management has not increased tuition fees for students since the harmonization of student fees in 2019; This includes fees such as faculty, department, association, and tuition fees for graduating classes.
Therefore, the news circulating for further education is not only false but also misleading and an attempt to provoke unrest in universities.
We ask students, staff and the public to respond to fake news about the alleged increase as it is a false alarm triggered by the destabilization of the university’s peace.
